Contributions to Servicemember Health Alliance are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.
Unlike 501(c)(3) charitable organizations, 501(c)(4) social welfare organizations are permitted to engage in lobbying and direct legislative advocacy that furthers their social welfare mission. This classification allows SHA to engage directly in policy discussions and legislative advocacy on behalf of service members and veterans.

Mission and Purpose
Servicemember Health Alliance is dedicated to advancing the health, resilience, and recovery of service members and veterans. Our primary activities include:
- Supporting research partnerships to expand evidence generation in hormonal health, TBI, PTSD, and metabolic disease in military and veteran populations
- Elevating the lived experiences of service members and veterans to inform clinical practice and policy
- Engaging policymakers and identifying congressional champions to advance evidence-based discussions around service member health and national readiness
- Raising awareness of care barriers facing service members and veterans and advocating for responsible, evidence-based, clinician-directed treatment options
Governance
Servicemember Health Alliance is governed by a board of directors responsible for strategic oversight, financial stewardship, and ensuring the organization fulfills its mission. Information about our leadership and governance structure is available on our About page.
